WHAT'S DAT IN THE SKY?

    What's that in the sky? Is it cottonballs? Is it a blanket? NO! They're called clouds! There are many different types of clouds, even if they all look the same. Here are the main types:
  • If a cloud looks like a horses tail, thin and wispy, that is called cirrus.
  • If a cloud looks like a cauliflower, puffy, white clouds, usually with flat bottoms, that's cumulus.
  • If a cloud looks like a blanket of gray, that's stratus.
Those are the main ones. There are many more like:
  • Cirrostratus
  • Cumulonimbus
  • Altocumulus
  • Altostratus
  • Nimbostratus
  • Stratocumulus
